Black Tie Concierge is a Bergen County company that arranges black car service with chauffeurs we have vetted ourselves. The whole model rests on a single idea: look after the drivers, and the drivers look after the client.
The problem
Good drivers left the apps
Rideshare platforms are extraordinary at matching a car to a person in three minutes. They are much worse at the trip that has to be right: the 5 a.m. departure, the client landing at Newark, the evening where the return leg matters as much as the outbound.
As the platforms squeezed their take, the experienced commercial drivers — the ones who had done twenty years of airport work and knew every approach to every terminal — quietly stopped accepting those trips. What was left was whoever happened to be nearby.
We started Black Tie Concierge to give those drivers somewhere to go, and to give people in Bergen County a number to call when the ride actually matters.
Our standards
How a chauffeur joins us
Nobody drives a client until they have been through all four. We turn away far more applicants than we accept, which is the only reason the standard holds.

Background check
A criminal background check, run before anything else. No exceptions and no grandfathering.

Full driving record
The complete motor vehicle record, reviewed for patterns rather than single incidents. Commercial licensing and insurance verified.

Verified experience
Demonstrated commercial driving history. Airport work in particular is its own skill, and it shows immediately.

Previous operators and long-standing clients, contacted directly. This is the step most services skip and the one that tells us the most.

Six commitments
Quoted, then honored
The flat rate we give you before the trip is the rate you pay. No surge multipliers, no booking fees, nothing invented after the fact. Charges that can apply, such as waiting time or a late cancellation, are set out in your confirmation and our terms before you ride.
Early, not on time
Our chauffeurs are in position before your pickup time. "On time" leaves no room for a road closure, and there is always a road closure.
Absolute discretion
What is said in the car stays in the car — for our corporate clients above all. We do not discuss who we drive.
A real person answers
Dispatch is staffed around the clock by someone who can actually change your booking, not a chat widget that opens a ticket.
Drivers paid properly
Our chauffeurs keep a materially larger share of the fare than the apps allow. It is why the good ones stay, and why you see the same faces.
We will say no
If we cannot staff a trip to our standard, we will tell you rather than send a car we are not confident in. You can plan around a no.
